Broken Wand Broken Hearts is a short film written by Judith Plank. One of ten winning selections in the 2011 Access Sacramento screenwriting contest A Place Called Sacramento.
The story follows Brad who returns home adjusts and deal with the depression after his girlfriend leaves. Brad receives a stuffed cat from his niece and he spends days trying to give it away to anyone who will take it. Meanwhile his nightmares and flashbacks of the war subside and heis able to sleep and find peace. When he finally does get rid of the stuff cat, the war inside him comes back and he falls back into the depression until his buddie is returned.
